The role of the dental hygienist in implant prosthodontics is essential to ensure the long-term success of dental implant treatments. The dental hygienist plays a crucial role in educating and caring for patients who have prostheses on implants. Within the dental implant team, the dental hygienist has significant responsibilities. This includes cleaning and decontaminating tissues around the implants, as well as instructing and motivating patients in proper oral hygiene techniques. Additionally, the dental hygienist must be able to recognize and identify different types of implants, connections, transmucosal abutments, and screws used in various prostheses.
This talk is aimed at dental hygienists who wish to expand their knowledge in the field of implant prosthodontics. In order to identify implants, connections, types of prostheses, manufacturing materials, assembly, removal, and their peculiarities. Thus, being able to provide a higher quality, rigorous, and differentiated service to the implanted patient.
