Oral rehabilitation in patients with very destroyed dentition. Systematics and reasoning for more effective and efficient dentistry.

Oral rehabilitation has undergone significant changes throughout my professional career. In the past, crowns were the go-to solution for most dental problems. Later, there was a backlash against crowns, with dentists being discouraged from using them. Nowadays, digital technology has revolutionized the field of dentistry. Similarly, diagnostic trends have shifted from focusing primarily on caries to erosive wear and bruxism. However, it is important to remember that fads come and go. What remains constant is the need for accurate diagnosis, proper treatment planning based on the diagnosis, and an understanding of the different indications for various types of restorations. Technology can be a valuable tool in helping us work better, faster, and more efficiently.

This lecture will focus on a clinical perspective of how we make decisions and execute oral rehabilitation treatments today.
